Back in 2023, criminologist Ardavan Khoshnood had warned that Sweden is experiencing bombing incidents at levels rivaling war zones.

A new study from Lund University in Sweden shows that men with an immigrant background are clearly overrepresented in Swedish rape convictions. The study, “Immigrant Background and Rape Conviction: A 21-Year Follow-Up Study in Sweden”, was recently published in “Journal of interpersonal violence”. The authors, Ardavan Khoshnood, Jan Sundqvist and Kristina Sundqvist, are all doctoral…

The study was led by Ardavan Khoshnood, a criminologist at Lund University, and follows a similar study in 2018 which found that 58 per cent of rape convictions came from residents born overseas.

Criminals in Sweden are increasingly using hand grenades in attacks, with customs officers also reporting a surge in grenade seizures, raising concerns over escalating migrant gang violence

In September last year, Ardavan Khoshnood, a leading criminologist at Malmö University, described Sweden as the bombing capital of Europe, noting the Scandinavian nation is now second only to Mexico as the top country in the world not currently at war to experience the most bombings on its territory.

“Perhaps the most important conflicts in organised crime in Sweden are about the narcotics trade: about who is selling where and what,” Ardavan Khoshnood, a criminologist and associate professor at Lund University, explains.

– said Mr Khoshnood, who also warned that those responsible for the bombings are becoming increasingly sophisticated in their approach. „We’ve seen a move towards more powerful explosive charges. Initially, they were throwing hand grenades, but now we see a shift towards explosives and more sophisticated detonations,” the senior criminologist explained.

The Scandinavian country is now second only to Mexico as the top country in the world not currently at war to experience the most bombings on its territory, according to leading criminologist Ardavan Khoshnood. “Sweden stands out completely,” he told the Svenska Dagbladet newspaper.
